The implementation of the Eco-Beachtech project is expected to yield significant benefits for the coastal zones of Greece and Cyprus. Through the application of innovative and environmentally friendly methods, the project aims at the following results:
- Coastal Protection: Coastline recovery and erosion reduction in the pilot areas (Gavvathas – Lesvos, Keros & Romeikos Gialos – Lemnos, Coral Bay – Cyprus).
- Green Infrastructure: Installation and evaluation of innovative "green" systems (eco-friendly artificial reefs) for wave energy attenuation.
- Monitoring Systems: Establishment of permanent recording stations (cameras, sensors) for the continuous monitoring of morphodynamic changes on the beaches.
- Strategic Planning: Development of a Best Practices Guide for addressing climate change on tourist beaches.
This section will be continuously enriched with the deliverables, studies, and data that will emerge as the project progresses.
