About the Deliverable

The Coastal Protection Plans and Studies serve as the roadmap for the future shielding of our coasts against the climate crisis. This deliverable was developed with the aim of transforming research findings into actionable technical plans for Lesvos, Lemnos, and Cyprus, proposing solutions that respect the local landscape.

By synthesizing all scientific data (flooding, erosion, reefs), the studies propose specific interventions for each beach. The design adheres to the principles of integrated management, taking into account both technical excellence and compatibility with tourism and ecological needs.

These plans are a vital maturation tool, as the proposals included within them:

  • Guide the competent authorities in the implementation of permanent and environmentally sound protection works.
  • Form the basis for securing future funding for infrastructure construction.
  • Enhance the preparedness of local communities against extreme weather events.

Consequently, the protection studies represent Eco-Beachtech’s legacy to local stakeholders, ensuring that the effort for resilient coasts possesses scientific continuity and effectiveness.
